Woomera and Coober Pedy

We spent a couple of hours at Woomera yesterday morning, looking at the Woomera Heritage Centre. There were plenty of rockets to look at and the boys learnt about the testing they do in the area. We then got back in the car and headed to Coober Pedy. It was a very boring 4.5 hours but the reward once we hit Coober Pedy was a skate park!

We spent this morning at Tom's Working Opal Mine

It was a really interesting tour and the kids were put to work. Jack and Tom even found some opals with the help of an opal miner.

We spent the afternoon driving out to The Breakaways which were absolutely beautiful. The photos don't do it justice.

This photo is part of a sacred Aboriginal area. They call these hills the 2 dogs, one black and one white.
We are all settling in to life in the caravan. The boys have been making friends in the playground and have found some kids that are headed the same direction as us. The biggest problem we are facing tonight is that Michael and Tom can't watch the Bombers playing since we can only get the ABC on our television. Michael is seriously considering going in to town to watch it at the local pub. Since it has bars on the windows I am not sure it is such a good idea!
Off to the rock tomorrow, it will take us 2 days to get there but we are all very excited.
