After packing up the van we drove out to Uluru again so that Jack, Tom and I could do a guided walk with a Park Ranger. It was very interesting for the kids to hear all about bush tucker and more of the stories about the rock. They thought the aboriginal ranger was very old since he told us he was born in 1933. He talked about his childhood growing up traditionally including walking from Uluru to Alice Springs on a regular basis. The boys were particularly interested in hearing about teaching the young boys to become men and how the 4 elders whose job it was to watch over them had been in this cave for so long they had turned to stone.

That's the four stone elders in this cave.
Michael and Charlie came to pick us up and then we drove to King's Creek Station, a cattle station about 30km before King's Canyon. It is a really lovely place to stay and there is actually grass here to kick the footy on for a change!
We even got to have a campfire for the first time which the pyromaniac kids loved. Unfortunately we didn't have many marshmallows left so had to buy some here at $7 a packet!
